New Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Simplification of Administrative Processes visits the Medserv Malta base
Dr Michael Farrugia, the newly appointed Parliamentary Secretary for planning and simplification of administrative processes paid a familiarisation visit to the Medserv Malta base this week.
Dr Farrugia was greeted by Mr Anthony Diacono, Mr Anthony Duncan and Mr. Godwin Borg who explained to Dr Farrugia more about Medserv and its core activities, as well as the Company’s planned investment both locally and abroad. Dr Farrugia was then given a short tour around the Medserv Malta base wherein he was also shown where the planned solar farm would be installed.
In a recent company announcement, the forward looking Company announced that they shall be investing €4 million to install a 2MWp photovoltaic farm making use of the extensive roofs found in its Malta base. This investment will not only generates income for the next 20 years but is also considered as an investment towards sustainable energy production.
“Dr Farrugia was instrumental in facilitating the process of approving the permits required for the solar farm. Being the first to undertake such a venture, there were a number of issues we came across that slowed the process down. Since being appointed to his new role, Dr Farrugia has quickly picked up the ropes and has been incredibly efficient in ironing out the entire process.” said Mr Diacono. “We sincerely thank him for his support. We are now at the final stages and hope to be able to move forward and implement the plans in the near future.” Medserv expects the project to be completed by the end of 2014.
